Jerusalem Break
The natural Jerusalem stone of Mamilla mall, the Orthodox Jewish gentleman in traditional black garb, I saw this scene as I was walking by and although it was a bright sunny day immediately envisioned it in black and white.
I have a challenge for you. I’m think of submitting this in a competition but can’t think of a unique title for it. Any suggestions?

A First look at Prague
“Prague never lets you go… this dear little mother has sharp claws.” -Franz Kafka
You’re probably wondering why I would post this image from Prague before posting a more iconic view of the old city, the clock tower or the Charles Bridge, Well that’s a good question.
I spent 2 days in Prague, which is by no means is enough time to take in all that this incredible city has to offer. The architecture, Romanesque; Baroque; Renaissance; Gothic, Art Nouveau; Modernist (just to name a few styles) is absolutely incredible to behold. Don’t worry I do have some of those iconic shots and they’re coming but there are always little gems hiding in plain sight that we sometimes miss.
Walking through the old city even small pedestrian walkways such as the one below holds so much architectural interest its hard not to spend time and just take it all in.

Vienna Flower Shop
As I was processing some of my images from Vienna this struck me as the perfect shot to do some digital painting. The flowers were so vibrant and really popped of the screen that I tried a few different versions before finding the one I really liked.
I used Topaz Impression to create this image, it’s one of my favourite Topaz plug-ins. Starting with the base image I sampled different pre-sets before settling on the one that closely matched my vision and then I started adjusting the brush strokes, amount of paint, blending mode, etc.

Carpets for Sale!
HAPPY CANADA DAY & HAPPY 4TH OF JULY! I hope everyone is enjoying this long weekend and that it’s filled with family, friends, BBQs & lots of fun.
The image below is of a different type of gathering. The streets of Old Jaffa in Tel Aviv are filled with tourists and locals alike. If you’re looking for souvenirs, a suit of amor, a life-size rabbit and of course carpets then you’re in the right place.
I processed this image using my usual workflow of LR & Photoshop then used Topaz Impression and Topaz Texture of its final treatment.
Topaz Impression 2 has just been released by Topaz Labs and I have to say that this plug in and Topaz Texture are 2 of my favourites.
If you’re already a Topaz Impression user then the upgrade is free.

Israeli Street Art – “Psst…I’m Here!”

Israel Street Photography – Leaving Carmel Market
I was strolling through the Carmel Market in Tel Aviv when I spotted these two people walking toward me. I waited until they passed, believing that I would have a much more compelling image as they walked away.
Would love to get your opinion on this image. I know its busy, with the parked cars, the buildings and electrical lines but I opted to leave it as is. It’s street photography and I wanted to depict the scene as I saw it. So what do you think? Leave it as is or should I clean
