iPhone Friday – Ripley’s Aquarium

Ripley’s Aquarium, located at the base of the CN Tower in downtown Toronto opened to the public last month. From what I hear its been packed during the day and absolutely crazy on weekends. My photography club had planned to have a photo outing at the aquarium on the weekend but given the crowds we changed the timing to a mid-week evening outing. So this past Wednesday evening I went swimin’ with the fishes. I haven’t had a chance to process any of my images but I did manage to take some pictures with my iPhone so here’s a look at Toronto’s newest attraction.

iPhone Friday – Carmel Bakery & Coffee Co.

There’s a little bakery in Carmel called appropriately The Carmel Bakery and Coffee Co., that my husband and I just fell in love with. We headed there every morning for breakfast (they make a mean breakfast burrito) and their baked goods are just out of this world. If you find yourself in Carmel head over there.

iPhone Friday – Swimmin’ with the Fishes

What’s one of the things you do when you’re in Monterey Bay….well you go to the aquarium of course.  Here’s a couple of images that I shot with my iPhone. I’ll be sharing more Monterey images next week so stay tuned 🙂

I just posted a review of the Canon 70-200mm f/4L USM lens on my product reviews page. Why did I go with the f/4 instead of the f/2.8? Read the review here.

iPhone Friday – Santa Cruz Boardwalk

On our way down to Monterey Bay we stopped in Santa Cruz. We spend some time at the boardwalk amusement park. An amusement park right on the beach…who can ask for more. I’ll have some more pictures of this wonderful place next week.

Have a great weekend everyone.

iPhone Friday – I Left My Heart In San Francisco

Even though I had my DSLR with me through my travels I still had to take some shots with my iPhone. I didn’t bring my laptop with me so shooting with my iPhone allowed me to process images during down times and of course it also allowed me to share images on Facebook throughout the week. If you don’t follow me on Facebook (or haven’t “Liked” Edith Levy Photography) you can find me here. I do share some different images there so come on over and have a look.

Here are a few images from San Francisco.

iPhone Friday – Can You Spot The Difference?

I still had some images on my iPhone from my visit to the University of Western Ontario last week so I thought I’d share one more. I really love trying new apps but I still have my work horse apps that gets used all the time.

Here’s the image straight out my iPhone taken with Camera+

When I process an iPhone shot it always goes through Snapseed first for adjustments (when needed) in contrast, brightness, ambiance or saturation. I then also adjust sharpness and/or structure. I may stop there with Snapseed or try some of their different presets. My next favorite app is PhotoToaster. I just love the presets in this app but more than that the individual adjustment sliders give you fantastic control over the image. You can adjust exposure; temperature; lighten shadows; tint; blacks and so much more.

This image was processed with both Snapseed and PhotoToaster as described above. I did use a new app I just downloaded called Over. Over allows you to add text and artwork to your photos. Can I tell you how I found out about it??  You know those little free app cards you can pick up at Starbucks? Well last week Over was on the card. Yup…don’t overlook those, you never know what little gems you might find.
