Jazz It Up In NOLA Travel Poster
I was going through my New Orleans images, looking for one that really embodies NOLA, in order to create a unique travel poster. A jazz club, Bourbon Street, French Quarter Architecture…what more could I have asked for.

Maine – A “Vintage” Travel Poster
It’s been awhile since I’ve created (and posted) a “vintage travel poster” so I thought this would be a good time. I’m actually working on one for Bruce Peninsula National Park and hope to be able to share it with you shortly.
This is the second one that I’ve created for Maine. The first one that I did was for Acadia National Park which you can see here. This time around I just couldn’t resist but use an iconic place such as Portland Head lighthouse as the focus of this travel poster.

Acadia National Park – Vintage Travel Poster
I’ve started a little tradition for myself when I travel and that’s creating a “vintage” look travel poster out of one of my photographs. You can see the poster I created for Rome here and the Le Massif de Charlevoix poster here.
This time around I wanted to capture an image of Maine’s rugged coastline and what better place to do that then at Otter Point in Acadia National Park.
After processing the image from a single RAW file in Photoshop, I used Topaz Black & White Effects to create the final image. Don’t forget you can use the discount code ELPHOTO to save 15% on all Topaz Labs products.

Le Massif de Charlevoix – Travel Poster
Le Massif de Charlevoix is a ski hill in north-eastern Quebec just over an hour from Quebec City. I think I mentioned in my last post that the views are spectacular as your overlooking the St. Lawrence River. Just a bit of history, in 2002, Daniel Gauthier, one of the co-founders of Le Cirque du Soleil, purchased Le Massif. He sold his interest in Cirque du Soleil and used part of the proceeds to purchase this ski hill.
A few months ago I posted an image of Rome that I re-invented as a vintage travel poster. You can see that one here. Well I had so much fun doing that one that I had to create one for Le Massif. I see a trend starting here.
Visit Rome – A Vintage Travel Poster

I have always loved vintage travel posters so I decided to try my hand at creating one with a shot I took in Italy this past summer. This image was taken while I was standing at the top of the Spanish Steps. This was one exposure which I tonemapped in Photomatix Pro. I then brought it into PhotoShop and used Topaz B&W Effects applying the simplify effect and then adjusting tones to get a vintage look. So what do think? Want to visit Rome?
