The 5 Best Things About My Trip to Israel & Tel Aviv Kite Boarding

I’ve just returned from 2 weeks in Israel and while I’m still trying to shake this jet lag, here are the top 5 best things about this trip:

#5 – Shakshuka is the Middle East’s greatest breakfast invention (go ahead…Google it 🙂 ), but really it’s great any time of the day.

#4 – Tel Aviv! it’s one of the best cities in the world. If you don’t believe me check out Lonely Planet’s annual “best cities” rankings. I’ll do a separate post on Tel Aviv soon.

#3 – Using my new Canon 5D Mark 3 – love, love, love it. More on that later.

#2 – The beach.

#1 – Seeing my SON!

At this time of the year, with blustering winds and cresting waves, kite boarding was the sport du jour.

  4. I can relate to #2, #4 and #5, but I’ll admit that I’ve never met your son, nor have I ever tried a Canon 5D Mark 3.
Tel Aviv is an awesome place, the beach there is great and I love shakshuka (I make it at home from time to time and I’ve tried it on numerous occasions in Israel).

  5. Yup, that would be my #1 too, Edith!!
So glad you had such a wonderful time.
Kite boarding looks like so much fun.
I went parasailing when I was in Spain many years ago, and I absolutely LOVED it.
Ok, now I’m off to check out shakshuka!

    • Thanks Lisa. The kite boarders make it look easier then it is. A lot of middle eastern restaurants serve Shakshuka in North America, you should try it.
