A Hard Drive Crash, A Day in the Country & An Aspiring Photographer
First I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day, President’s Day and Family Day (if you’re in certain parts of Canada). You may have noticed that I’ve been a bit absent this week. I have a good explanation…my hard-drive crashed 😦
No need to panic though because everything is backed-up on a raid drive and then I have a 3rd back up of all my images. The problem is I’ve been without my Mac for almost a week. See the Mac’s internal hard-drive is less than 3 years old. I had replaced it back then because I needed a larger one. Well it was still under warranty (that’s good) but it will take 7 – 10 days to send it back to the manufacturer and get it back (that’s bad). It should be coming home this week.
My son, Sam is home this week from University for reading week and it’s really nice to have a full house. Since today was family day we took a drive up to Port Carling, Muskoka. Sam has started showing some interest in photography so we did some shooting together today. Unfortunately I can’t process my images until I get my computer back but here’s a shot I took of Sam with my iPhone 6 and processed with Snapseed.
Even you couldn’t edit it, the picture is still beautiful! I really like the composition.

Edith, that is a tragedy for your hard drive to crash! I would go bonkers! 7-10 is too long….but at least you were smart enough to back it up. Do you have any idea, what made it crash? Have a good day my friend.

I wish I knew Laurie. I save everything to my raid drive so the internal hard drive was not even half full. The worst thing is that it was less then 3 years old. The only reason that it’s taking so long is that it’s under warranty so they had to send it back to get a new one. I could have paid to for a brand new drive and it would have been done in a day.

Oh my! At least you didn’t loose all your images, that would have been a tragedy! Great shot! I love the iPhone, we can make beautiful images, 😀

Glad you have multiple backups (so do I). So many people don’t.

I love this photo of Sam, Edith.
My son is also showing an interest in photography. His eye is a lot keener than his mom’s too! 🙂
Enjoy every moment with him while he’s home, and I am so glad your computer will be coming home soon.

Thanks Lisa. I have to admit the same is true of my son. He has an eye for composition and light which is quite amazing.

So sorry about the hard drive! Thankfully, you have everything backed up. What a complete frustration.
Having said all of that, I absolutely love this image of Sam!
Looking off into the distance, camera strap hanging down, snow falling … happiness
